Commitment to Responsible Digital Journalism

Dainik Jago World, operated by Katna Ji Media Network 247, is committed to upholding the highest standards of digital journalism. This Code of Ethics is adopted to maintain professional integrity, protect freedom of expression under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution of India, and ensure responsible, fair, and independent digital publishing.

This Code does not interfere with the day-to-day editorial functioning of the organization. Complete editorial independence rests with the editors and journalists, while adhering to ethical, legal, and professional standards.


1️⃣ Compliance With Law

Dainik Jago World strictly follows:

  • The Constitution of India
  • Applicable media-related laws
  • Relevant provisions of IPC, CrPC
  • Information Technology Act, 2000 and related rules
  • Any other law governing digital publishing in India

2️⃣ Journalistic Ethics & Professional Conduct

We adhere to established norms of journalism, including:

  • Truthfulness and accuracy
  • Editorial independence
  • Accountability
  • Fairness and impartiality

Multiple internal editorial checks are followed to ensure ethical decision-making at reporter, editor, and publisher levels.


3️⃣ Accuracy, Transparency & Fairness

  • All news content is verified before publication.
  • Inaccurate, misleading, or distorted information is strictly avoided.
  • Sensationalism, defamation, and unverified allegations are not published.
  • Applicable laws and rules are followed at all times.

4️⃣ Right of Reply

a) News reports involving allegations must include the response or version of the concerned person or party wherever possible.
b) If a response is received after publication, it shall be published promptly.
c) Any update or correction shall clearly mention the date of update.


5️⃣ Takedown, Deletion & Correction Policy

  • If any content is found to be false or inaccurate, it will be edited or removed upon verification.
  • If the entire article is incorrect or misleading, it shall be deleted in full.
  • Requests must be made by the affected party with proper identification and supporting documents.

6️⃣ Respect for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

  • Copyright in text, images, videos, graphics, cartoons, and designs is respected.
  • Prior permission is taken wherever required.
  • Due credit and acknowledgment are provided.
  • Any royalty or fee required is duly paid.
  • Trademark and service marks are used only with permission or under fair use.
  • On receiving a valid infringement complaint, content will be edited, removed, or taken down as required.

7️⃣ Reporting on Crime & Sensational Matters

  • Presumption of innocence is respected.
  • No speculative commentary on evidence, witnesses, victims, or accused.
  • Reporting is factual, balanced, and unbiased.

8️⃣ Sensitive & Special Category Reporting

Extra caution is exercised while reporting on:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Rape, molestation, and abuse
  • Child abuse and POCSO matters
  • Matrimonial disputes, divorce, custody, adoption
  • Communal or religious clashes
  • Riots and sensitive social issues

We strictly comply with Sections 67, 67A, and 67B of the IT Act, 2000.

Mandatory Safeguards:

  • No disclosure of victim identities
  • No photos revealing victims’ identity, residence, or workplace
  • Juvenile identities are strictly protected

9️⃣ Grievance Redressal Mechanism

As required under the Information Technology Act, 2000:

  • A Grievance Officer is appointed
  • Contact details are displayed on the website
  • Complaints are acknowledged within 36 hours
  • Resolution is provided within one month

We recognize our responsibilities and safe harbor protections under Section 79 of the IT Act.

Regular training programs are conducted for editorial staff on:

  • Media laws and constitutional provisions
  • IPC, CrPC, defamation laws
  • IT Act, Copyright Act, RTI Act
  • POCSO, Juvenile Justice Act
  • Reporting on courts, women, children, caste, gender, and communal matters

Special emphasis is placed on:

  • Privacy of individuals not in public life
  • Responsible court reporting
  • Promoting communal harmony, peace, and social responsibility

We respect the privacy and dignity of individuals, especially private citizens. Personal details are not disclosed unless justified by overriding public interest and permitted by law.
